About Me

Hi, I am Lisa and I live in the beautiful city of Albany, Western Australia.
We moved here as a family 13 years ago and love the area and being close to the Grandparents for our kids. I am wife to Phil and we were married January 1986. We have been blessed with 14 children and I'm a work from home Mum.
Our first son passed away as a baby a long time ago. 7 kids are now adults, 7 not at home any more and 2 of those married. We also have 2 delightful grandsons and 1 granddaughter. So that leaves only 6 children at home at the moment!  Life is looking very different now with no more babies or toddlers.  Still busy but a different kind of busy.

I have got a lot of loves in my life.  I am blessed to be free to explore different avenues that are in alignment with my passions.  To be helping others is my very biggest passion!
My family is of course my very deepest and hugest passion.  These guys are all consuming and I am so blessed.  Sometimes though, it is a very real thing to need a break and have some fresh air, fresh review of where I am and where I'm going. Time away and off the mum train is SO needed and extremely rewarding. Mum guilt no more.  We need to look after ourselves so we can go on and care for everyone else.

One of my interests has been getting into Scrapbooking and for the last 15 years I have managed to complete over 40 albums full of our family's memories. I scrapped back to 1985 when my hubby and I first met and then moved through the baby albums of 14 babies and their first 2 years along side a family album covering the same time frame.
I have been involved with two different papercraft companies over the past 9 years and have loved my involvement and all the beautiful people that I've met and now call life long friends. We continue to meet 1-2 times per month and these days are often way too much fun and full of much chatting and laughter.... and a little bit of crafting!

This is just one of the many facets of my life. Changes, growth and exploring new things, options and choice.  It really is a special thing to realise that I have been on auto pilot for decades and I now have come off the roller coaster of my own baby days.  Babies and teenagers and everything in between has been a huge journey.  This has been our life's choice for sure and are very grateful that we have been blessed to follow our hearts and just let God have control of this area of our lives.  Yes, we have a faith and along our journey, has been a very true and real thing, tangible!

Another passion of mine is birth and supporting new mothers at this most beautiful and challenging time of their lives.  I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula in my town here in Albany.  I love all things birth and newborn and most importantly new born mummas.

My next very heartfelt and deep passion are women and helping them realise that they are all outstandingly fabulous!  I have a need to help people feel amazing and 'enough'.  You are all unique and precious.  You are all extremely needed and loved.  I want everyone to feel comfortable with who they are and to really love the skin they're in !!!!

That is just so important.  I have had a journey of not feeling enough for a very long time, not fitting in and the family size often made that much worse and singled us out for more isolation and often aloneness.  But I am enough.  I am different and unique and I am strong!  I have a choice about how I live this life and I intend to choose wisely and help others reach out and do the same.

This Blog started out as my crafting blog and is now taking a huge turn away from just my love for papercrafts and more into who I am and my other passions and direction our lives are taking.  I am going to try to give you a tiny taste into our lives over the past 31 years of parenting, my new businesses and passions that they are encompassing and a view into what the future may look like for our family, and also glimpses into our past.  So thank you for looking and please stay tuned and share if you think this would be encouraging for others.
